Eagle River Utility Solutions LLC—a subsidiary of Endurance Capital Partners, a Plymouth, MN-based private investment company that invests both time and capital in great businesses to build enduring value for communities—has purchased T-Ray Construction Co., Inc., a well-established underground utility and telecommunications infrastructure company based in Blaine, Minnesota.
To ensure a smooth transition for T-Ray and its valued customers, founders and owners Jim and Steve Sunderland will continue to lead the company as T-Ray gradually merges operations with Eagle River.
Over the last 43 years, T-Ray has successfully completed numerous utility and telecommunications infrastructure installation and maintenance projects throughout Minnesota and neighboring states while building a strong reputation for safety and great customer service. As T-Ray merges with Eagle River, these commitments will continue to be at the forefront of the company, enabling it to offer uninterrupted service to existing customers while also expanding opportunities for partnership with more customers and regions.
Jim Sunderland, co-owner of T-Ray said, “It has been our privilege to lead our company, and in considering this merger, the enduring care of our customers and employees was always front-of-mind. We wanted our company to be purchased by someone who shares our same values and commitment to outstanding service. There is no doubt that this is what drives Endurance Capital and Eagle River. We are very pleased for this next chapter in our company.”
Steve Sunderland, co-owner of T-Ray added, “We are excited to join forces with the team at Eagle River out of our shared commitment to providing excellent utility and telecommunications infrastructure services in Minnesota and beyond. The team has developed a highly regarded company over the years. We are excited to continue to serve T-Ray customers well as we also fortify Eagle River’s ability to serve customers who have asked us to take on larger projects and do more for them.”
Nancy Sunderland, the longtime business manager of T-Ray, said “I took part in getting T-Ray started in 1982 and now it's an honor to be part of the transition. I look forward to bringing the teams together and supporting the employees and customers in the back office. I think this merger is a perfect fit for what the Sunderland Family represents.”
Zach Bertschi, President of Eagle River, said, “We are honored that Jim and Steve felt we were the right fit to merge with their company. This is an exciting step forward in our mission to deliver utility solutions that elevate the lives of people and strengthen American infrastructure.”
